This Week in Sport: 30th January − 5th February 2023

As we head into February, there is no shortage of sporting action to keep us entertained. The FA Cup Fourth Round continues with Derby County playing West Ham on Monday, whilst the Carolina Hurricanes play the LA Kings in the NHL on Tuesday. Wednesday sees the third T20 International between India and New Zealand, and Thursday is the start of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am golf tournament.

As the weekend approaches, the Premier League dishes up a West London rivalry with Chelsea facing Fulham. On Saturday, the Calcutta Cup match takes place at Twickenham with England trying to win back the Cup from Scotland, and finally on Sunday, the New York Knicks host the Philadelphia 76ers.

FA Cup: Derby County v West Ham United

The FA Cup has entered its Fourth Round. League One Derby County will host Premier League West Ham in this match to progress to the next round.

NHL: Carolina Hurricanes v Los Angeles Kings

The NHL has seen some epic games so far this season, this could be another, the Hurricanes are currently at the top of the Metropolitan Division, and the Kings are third in the Pacific Division.

Cricket in India: India v New Zealand

Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad

This match is the 3rd T20 International between the sides. New Zealand won the first match by 21 runs, and India won the second by 6 wickets. Who will come out on top in the final T20I?

PGA Tour: AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Day 1

For this exciting PGA tour event, professional golfers will be playing for a prize fund of $9 million, whilst the top prize for amateurs is $1.62 million. Gareth Bale is set to make an appearance following his retirement from football earlier this year.

Premier League: Chelsea v Fulham

With these two clubs just down the road from each other, this West London rivalry should deliver a good game. Fulham travel to Stamford Bridge to try to replicate their 2-1 win against Chelsea in their last encounter.

Six Nations: England v Scotland

The annual battle for the Calcutta Cup is set to be another epic. The Calcutta Cup has been in Scottish hands for the past two years, but with England having a big change in coaching staff recently, this will be their first match to prove themselves.

NBA: New York Knicks v Philadelphia 76ers

Madison Square Garden, New York

These East Coast rivals meet for the third time this season. In their previous meetings, both teams lost their home games, so the Knicks will want to ensure it doesn’t happen again.
