This Week in Sport: 23rd January − 29th January 2023
The final full week of January continues to provide world class sport for followers across the world. The week starts with MI Cape Town taking on the Pretoria Capitals in the SA20 League, and Tuesday will see the first leg of the Semi-final in the Carabao Cup between Southampton and Newcastle United. Wednesday, the Memphis Grizzlies travel to San Francisco to play the Golden State Warriors in the NBA, and Thursday is Day 2 of the Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA Tour.
Later in the week, the Fourth Round of the FA Cup starts on Friday with Manchester City playing Arsenal, and Saturday will see the Women’s Singles Final at the Australian Open. To round the week out, Sunday will be the day of the AFC Conference Final between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Cincinnati Bengals, who are both playing for a spot in Super Bowl LVII.

The first edition of the SA20 League is now over half way through. The Pretoria Capitals are sitting at the top of the league with a game in hand, but things could all change very quickly if Cape Town can win.
Carabao Cup: Southampton v Newcastle United

Southampton and Newcastle have already met once this season in the Premier League with Newcastle coming away with a 4-1 win. Both teams will be desperate to take the advantage before the Second Leg, which is scheduled for 31st January.
NBA: Golden State Warriors v Memphis Grizzlies

The Memphis Grizzlies lost their 11 win streak at the weekend so will be looking to get back to their winning ways, to help them stay near the top of the Western Conference. The Golden State Warriors have had inconsistent results this season so will be keen to put on a solid performance on their home court.
PGA Tour: Farmers Insurance Open Day 2

Thursday will see PGA Tour players compete in the Second Round of the Farmers Insurance Open. Championship Days will be on Friday and Saturday where a winner will be decided.
FA Cup: Manchester City v Arsenal

City of Manchester Stadium, Manchester
Friday sees the start of the Fourth Round of the FA Cup. Both Manchester City and Arsenal had convincing wins in the Third round with 4-0 and 3-0 victories respectively. The teams are yet to face each other this season.
Grand Slam (Tennis): Australian Open - Women’s Final

Melbourne Park, Melbourne
Top seed Iga Świątek and second seed Ons Jabeur have both been knocked out, so this tournament is wide open. Semi-finals will take place on Thursday, with the Final taking place on Saturday in the Rod Laver Arena.
NFL: AFC Conference Final - Kansas City Chiefs v Cincinnati Bengals
Sunday 29th January 11:30PM GMT/3:30PM Local Time
Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City
The Chiefs beat the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Bengals beat the Buffalo Bills to make it to the AFC Conference Final. The winner of this game will go on to play either the Philadelphia Eagles or the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVII.
