This Week in Sport: 7th March − 13th March 2022

The first full week of March is an incredibly exciting prospect for sports fans. On Monday, the Philadelphia 76ers play host to the Chicago Bulls at the Wells Fargo Center. The following day Enlgand’s toJavonte Green Scoring for the Chicago Bulls ur of the Caribbean commences as their first Test against the West Indies begins. Wednesday will see Real Madrid take on Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

Thursday marks the start of golf’s unofficial 5th major, the PLAYERS Championship, which takes place at the renowned TPC Sawgrass. The next day St Helen’s take on the Warrington Wolves in the Super League.

The weekend is also jam packed with great sport. On Saturday, England take on Ireland in an important Six Nations game for both sides. Finally, on Sunday, teams from across the world will battle it out for Paralympic Ice Hockey medals.

The first Test of England’s trip to the Caribbean takes place on Tuesday, with the visitors playing a 3 Test series against the West Indies throughout the month. England will be hoping to repeat their 2020 victory against the West Indies, and retain the Wisden Trophy.

UEFA Champions League: Real Madrid v Paris Saint-Germain

Real Madrid play host to Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie. Real Madrid lost the first game 0-1, so will be desperate to rebalance the scales and go through to the next stage of the competition.

PGA Tour: THE PLAYERS Championship

Outside of the 4 official majors, the PGA Tour’s PLAYERS Championship is one of the biggest events of the season. TPC Sawgrass is iconic, with the 17th one of the most famous holes in golf - one player who will be desperate to avoid the water on the par-3 is defending Champion Justin Thomas. Paralympics: Ice Hockey

Beijing National Indoor Stadium

Team USA will be hoping that they will get the chance to defend their Paralympic Ice Hockey title in Beijing on Sunday, and it is difficult to bet against them after their strong start to the competition. Sunday also sees the Paralympic closing ceremony.
