Cricket in England: England v India (5th Test) Day 5

Monday 4th August 10:00AM GMT/11:00AM Local

The Oval, London

England host India for the final day of the fifth Test between the two sides at the Oval in London. It’s a race to finish after bad light suspended play prematurely on the fourth day. England enter the day needing 35 runs to win and capture a Test series victory. However, India enter the day just four wickets away from ending England’s chase and securing a series draw, the first time they will have earned draws in back-to-back Test series since 2007. Can England’s lower-order batters prevail? Or will India’s bowlers be the heroes of the fifth Test.

The Hundred: London Spirit v Oval Invincibles

Tuesday 5th August 1:45PM GMT/2:45PM Local

Lord's Cricket Ground, London

The Hundred’s 2025 season gets underway at Lord’s in London, with the London Spirit hosting the Oval Invincibles. In the men’s tournament, the Invincibles enter the season as two-time defending champions. Led by the impressive Curran brothers, the Invincibles will seek to firmly establish themselves as a dynasty this season. Meanwhile, the Spirit enter as the defending women’s champions. While the squad has seen some overhaul since last season, the side anchored by Charlie Dean is still expected to be highly competitive in 2025.

WTA Tour: Canadian Open Day 11

Wednesday 6th August 10:00PM GMT/6:00PM Local

IGA Stadium, Montréal

The Canadian Open continues at Sobeys Stadium in Toronto and IGA Stadium in Montreal. Wednesday sees both tournaments reach the semifinals. Entering the week, a number of the top men’s seeds, including the number one seed, Alexander Zverev, are still in the mix. He faces defending tournament champion Alexei Popyrin on Monday for a place in the semifinals. Meanwhile, sixth-seeded Madison Keys is the highest-ranked woman left in the competition after a string of huge upsets in the earlier rounds. The tournament concludes with the men’s and women’s Finals taking place on Thursday.

PGA Tour: FedEx St. Jude Championship Day 1

Thursday 7th August 6:00PM GMT/1:00PM Local

TPC Southwind, Memphis

The St. Jude Championship tees off at TPC Southwind in Memphis. The first event of the FedEx Cup Playoffs begins with defending champion Scottie Scheffler carrying a substantial lead in the standings. The par-70 course is one of the Tour’s most iconic, with the fiendishly difficult par-3 14th hole considered its signature. Will anyone be able to stop Scheffler’s march to another title?

MLB: San Diego Padres v Boston Red Sox

Friday 8th August 01:40AM GMT (9th)/6:40PM Local

Petco Park, San Diego

The San Diego Padres host the Boston Red Sox at Petco Park in San Diego. Entering the week, the Red Sox and Padres both occupy competitions positions in the MLB standings. The Red Sox are second in the American League East, chasing the dominant Toronto Blue Jays and trying to remain ahead of the inconsistent New York Yankees. The Red Sox’s season has been a true team effort, which could pay dividends as the season wears on. Meanwhile, the Padres are chasing the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League West in what will likely become a must-watch divisional race come the end of the season. Led by Manny Machado and Luis Arráez, the Padres are one of baseball’s strongest hitting teams.

NRL: Bulldogs v Warriors

Saturday 9th August 09:35AM GMT/7:35PM Local

Stadium Australia, Sydney

The Bulldogs host the Warriors at Stadium Australia in Sydney for a high-stakes NRL match. The Bulldogs are third in the NRL standings as they hunt for their first premiership since 2004. However, they will need to bounce back from a stunning loss to the 12th-place Wests Tigers last weekend. Meanwhile, the Warriors are one of the favourites for the 2025 title, and currently sit fourth in the standings. They enter this match looking to snap a two-game losing streak as their promising season is threatened by injuries. Whichever side prevails will gain a vital advantage in the standings as the end of the regular season approaches.

FA Community Shield: Crystal Palace v Liverpool

Sunday 10th August 2:00PM GMT/3:00PM Local

Wembley Stadium, London

Liverpool face Crystal Palace in the FA Community Shield at Wembley Stadium. Liverpool, coming off a dominant Premier League title, have spent nearly £300 million to add stars such as Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, and Milos Kerkez in an effort to make them even harder to beat. Meanwhile, Crystal Palace appear in their first Community Shield after their historic FA Cup win over Manchester City last season. Their summer additions have been less explosive than Liverpool's, but the Eagles signed Croatian international Borna Sosa from Ajax and two-time Eredivisie champion goalkeeper Walter Benítez from PSV Eindhoven. Can the Eagles score another stunning victory against one of England’s major clubs?
