This Week in Sport: 21st February − 27th February 2022

On Monday, in Doha, the WTA Qatar Total Open continues. The following day, the Florida Panthers take on the Nashville Predators at the FLA Live Arena. On Wednesday and on the other side of the Atlantic, Atlético Madrid play host to Manchester United in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 matchup. 

Thursday sees the start of the PGA Tour’s Florida swing as players descend on PGA National for the Honda Classic. The next day on the West Coast, the Los Angeles Lakers go head to head with the Los Angeles Clippers in a battle between the two Western Conference heavyweights. 

The weekend is also an exciting prospect for sports fans. On Saturday, Wales head to Twickenham to take on England in one of the most highly anticipated matches of the 6 Nations Championship. Finally, on Sunday, Chelsea and Liverpool go head-to-head in the Carabao Cup final.

 

WTA World Tour: Qatar Total Open

The first WTA 1000 event of the season starts this week as the tour travels to Doha. With 8 of the world’s top 10 players vying for the title, this is not one to miss. Can Petra Kvitova defend her title?

NHL: Florida Panthers v Nashville Predators

UEFA Champions League: Atlético Madrid v Manchester United

Manchester United travel south to Spain to go head-to-head with Atlético Madrid in the first leg of their round of 16 matchup. The two teams have never faced one another in the Champions League, so both teams will undoubtedly fight hard to take the first win against one another.

After an exciting few days at Riviera for the Genesis Invitational, players head east to Florida for the first event of the Florida Swing. Following his first win in 7 years in the last edition of the event, Matt Jones returns to defend his title. However, he will face tough competition from PGA National locals Brooks Koepka and Daniel Berger.
