This Week in Sport: 17th October − 23rd October 2022
The third full week of October is shaping up to be incredibly exciting for sports fans around the world. The week starts with tennis at the Guadalajara Open Akron which is a major WTA tournament. The following day the NBA season returns with the Golden State Warriors playing the Los Angeles Lakers on the opening night.
Midweek football has Manchester United playing Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League. The Arizona Cardinals host the New Orleans Saints the following day at the State Farm Stadium as the NFL season continues. Baseball will be Friday's entertainment in the USA as the Philadelphia Phillies play the San Diego Padres in Game 3 of their playoff series.
The end of the week sees the highly anticipated Charles Oliveira versus Islam Makhachev bout at UFC 280 before India and Pakistan play each other in their opening match of the T20 Cricket World Cup.
