This Week in Sport: 10th October − 16th October 2022

American sports dominate the start of the week with the Kansas City Chiefs playing the Las Vegas Raiders. The following day sees one of the Wild Card Series winners, the Cleveland Guardians, play the impressive New York Yankees. 

World T20 preparations continue with Australia playing England in the second match of their series midway through the week. Thursday is day 2 of the UCI World Track Cycling Championships which is guaranteed excitement on the fast boards of the French national velodrome. The next day will see the start of the LIV Golf Invitational in Jeddah with some big names taking part.

The week finishes with Liverpool playing hosts to Manchester City in a game that always proves to be a huge Premier League battle.

Cycling: UCI Track Cycling World Championships

Some of the best cyclists in the world travel to Paris to take part in the UCI Track Cycling World Championships. There are 22 world titles available and each race will push the riders to their limits.

Rugby League World Cup: England v Samoa

St James’ Park, Newcastle upon Tyne 

Sam Tomkins will be hoping to lead the England side to victory in their first match of the Rugby League World Cup, taking place in England. But Samoa will put up stiff competition with some NRL superstars representing the island.
