This Week in Sport: 17th January − 23rd January 2022

Tennis player Rafael Nadal celebrates.January’s great month of sport continues this week, with lots for sports fans to look forward to. On Monday, the world’s best tennis players will begin their quests to win the Australian Open. The following day the Boston Bruins take on the Carolina Hurricanes in the NHL and Wednesday sees the start of the ODI series between South Africa and India.

Arsenal play host to Liverpool on Thursday, as both teams vie for a place in the Carabao Cup final. Across the Atlantic and the following day, the Milwaukee Bucks take on the Chicago Bulls, in a hotly anticipated NBA match-up.

The weekend is also an exciting prospect for sports fans. On Saturday, UFC fans will see Francis Ngannou take on Ciryl Gane in UFC 270. Finally, Sunday sees the Kansas City Chiefs play the Buffalo Bills in the NFL.
