There are some enticing fixtures coming up this week in the world of sport. Monday sees the Seattle Kraken travel to the Dallas Stars in the NHL Playoffs for a series decider, the NBA Western Conference Finals get underway on Tuesday, as the Denver Nuggets host the Los Angeles Lakers, and Manchester City take on Real Madrid in the Champions League Semifinals on Wednesday. On Thursday, the PGA Championship begins, and Friday sees an exciting mountain stage in the Giro d’Italia.

Heading into the weekend, the European Rugby Champions Cup will be decided on Saturday, as Leinster Rugby take on La Rochelle in the final, and on Sunday, Formula 1 heads to Italy for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.

NHL: Dallas Stars v Seattle Kraken

On Monday, the Dallas Stars host the Seattle Kraken in an exciting series deciding match. The series is currently tied at 3-3, meaning the winner of this game will head to the Western Conference Finals. The two sides have looked well matched all series, and it is hard to predict who will progress to the next round, but the Stars will hope their home-advantage can get them across the line. This is sure to be a heated occasion.

NBA: Denver Nuggets v Los Angeles Lakers

The Western Conference Finals begin on Tuesday, as the Denver Nuggets and the Los Angeles Lakers aim for conference supremacy. The Nuggets proved themselves as the team to beat in the regular season and have performed equally as strong in the postseason. The Lakers were less convincing in their regular season campaign, but have had a resurgence in the Playoffs, and with top players such as LeBron James and Anthony Davis, they will be aiming to progress to the NBA Finals.

UEFA Champions League: Manchester City v Real Madrid

City of Manchester Stadium, Manchester

Manchester City and Real Madrid will battle it out in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League Semi-final tie. The first leg finished 1-1, with both sides scoring from impressive strikes, courtesy of Vinicius Júnior and Kevin De Bruyne. City hold home-advantage and will hope their unique playstyle can help overcome the reigning champions. You won’t want to miss this one.

Major Championships (Golf): PGA Championship Day 1

Oak Hill Country Club, Rochester

The second men’s golf major of the year begins this Thursday, as the players head to the Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester for the PGA Championship. Owing to his impressive performances thus far this year, and with a masters win under his belt, Jon Rahm heads into this competition as favourite, with Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy not far behind.

Giro d’Italia: Giro d’Italia Day 13

Borgofranco D’Ivrea, Italy

The Giro d’Italia continues this week, with an exciting mountain stage taking place on day 13 this Friday. The riders will begin the stage in Borgofranco d'Ivrea and end in Crans-Montana in Switzerland, 207 kilometres later. Overall favourite, Remco Evenepoel currently leads the standings, with Geraint Thomas and Primož Roglič not far behind.

European Rugby Champions Cup: Leinster Rugby v La Rochelle

The weekend sees the European Rugby Champions Cup Final at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin. The final will be a repeat of last year’s, with Leinster Rugby and La Rochelle looking to prove they are Europe’s best once again. La Rochelle came out as the eventual winners in last year’s competition, winning the game with a late try.

Formula 1: Emilia Romagna Grand Prix - EVENT CANCELLED

Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari, Imola

Sunday sees Formula 1 head to Imola for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. Red Bull have dominated so far this season and both their drivers will go into this race as strong favourites, having won every single race and achieving a 1-2 finish in all but one. All eyes, then, will be on the battle between teammates Max Verstappen and Sergio Pérez in their hunt for the Drivers’ World Championship.
