Event of the Day: UEFA Women's European Championship Final

Our event of the day...

is the UEFA Women's European Championship Final, brought to you from Enschede in the Netherlands. After easily beating England 3-0 in the semi-final on Thursday night, the Dutch will be confident of being crowned European champions on home soil. However, standing in their way are the Danish, who progressed to the final after a close encounter with Austria. The tie ended with a thrilling penalty shootout in which the Danes won 3-0.

The Netherlands will be hopeful of a repeat performance from Arsenal Women's midfielder Daniëlle Van De Donk, after an impressive display and 62nd minute goal against England on Thursday.

For the Danes, multiple missed opportunities against Austria could have proven costly, and so they will be looking for a more clinical display in front of goal in the final. The two sides clashed earlier in the tournament, with the Dutch winning 1-0, and subsequently qualifying first place of Group A. Denmark will be hoping for revenge. It is all set up for an exciting final.
