There is also plenty more to enjoy at the weekend. On Saturday, Hull KR meet the Wigan Warriors in the Super League Grand Final, and on Sunday, India and Australia clash in the Women’s Cricket World Cup.

NFL: Jacksonville Jaguars v Kansas City Chiefs

Monday 6th October 12:15AM GMT (7th)/8:15PM Local

EverBank Stadium, Jacksonville

The Jacksonville Jaguars host the Kansas City Chiefs at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville. The Jaguars are 3-1 for the first time since 2018, as first-year head coach Liam Coen shows off what the Trevor Lawrence-led team is capable of. The defense has been a particular highlight so far, recording at least three takeaways in each of the team’s first four games. Meanwhile, the Chiefs are 2-2, as the Super Bowl runners-up, having started to turn their season around after their first 0-2 start since 2014. Can this reinvigorated Jaguars team continue their strong start and earn their first win against Kansas City since 2009?

NHL: Los Angeles Kings v Colorado Avalanche

Tuesday 7th October 2:30AM GMT (8th)/7:30PM Local

Crypto.com Arena, Los Angeles

The Los Angeles Kings host the Colorado Avalanche at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on opening night of the new NHL season. The Kings, who are expected to be a dark horse contender, will be motivated to provide a fitting swansong for Anže Kopitar, who has announced he will retire after the season, capping a 20-season NHL career spent entirely with the Kings. Meanwhile, the Avalanche begin the hunt for their first Stanley Cup since 2022 with a refreshed roster. Veteran defender Brent Burns was the team's major addition in the offseason, as they look to topple the recent Florida Panthers-Edmonton Oilers dominance of the past two seasons.

MLB: Los Angeles Dodgers v Philadelphia Phillies

Wednesday 8th October 1:08AM GMT (9th)/6:08PM Local

Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles

The Los Angeles Dodgers host the Philadelphia Phillies at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles for Game 3 of their MLB Playoff series. Entering the week, the Dodgers hold a 1-0 advantage in the series, having won Game 1, 5-3 on the road last week. If the Dodgers can find a win in Monday's Game 2, they will have the chance to secure a place in the National League Championship Series in this game. However, the Phillies are not a team to be underestimated, and their power-hitting lineup led by Kyle Schwarber will be eager to ensure a third trip to the NLCS in the last four years.

ATP Tour: Shanghai Masters Day 9

Thursday 9th October 4:30AM GMT/12:30PM Local

Qizhong Forest Sports City Arena, Shanghai

The Shanghai Masters continue at the Qizhong Forest Sports City Arena in Shanghai. Entering the week, some of the biggest names in men’s tennis have already been eliminated. Carlos Alcaraz withdrew from the tournament, while defending champion Jannik Sinner retired in the third round. With Alexander Zverev, Taylor Fritz and Ben Shelton also suffering early upsets, the highest remaining seed is four-time tournament champion, Novak Djokovic. Will we see more upsets as the tournament continues? Or will Djokovic power his way toward another title on Sunday? Alongside the title in Shanghai, there are valuable ranking points on offer, crucial for any player trying to reach the ATP Finals next month.

WNBA: Phoenix Mercury v Las Vegas Aces

Friday 10th October 12:00AM GMT (11th)/5:00PM Local

Mortgage Matchup Center, Phoenix

The Phoenix Mercury host the Las Vegas Aces for Game 4 of the WNBA Finals at Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix. Heading into the week, the Aces hold a 2-0 series lead and, depending on the result of Wednesday’s Game 3, could be playing for the Championship in this matchup. The Aces are firing on all cylinders and look nearly unstoppable. MVP A’ja Wilson is making a case for why she is the best player of her generation, while Jackie Young has entered a dominant playoff mode. Meanwhile, the Mercury will need to quickly find answers if they want to make a comeback in the series. In particular, they need more scoring from their bench, which contributed 16 points in Game 1 and just 8 points in Game 2. Can Phoenix rally? Or is Las Vegas destined to win a third title in four years?

Super League: Wigan Warriors v Hull Kingston Rovers

Saturday 11th October 5:00PM GMT/6:00PM Local

Old Trafford, Manchester

Hull KR meet Wigan Warriors in the Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford in Manchester. Hull have been the league’s best team all season, lifting their first League Leader’s Shield at the end of a 22 win regular season. Now they have the chance to avenge their 2024 Grand Final defeat and win their first top-flight title since 1985. Can Mikey Lewis, Joe Burgess, and Tom Davies, who have combined for 56 tries this season, lead their team to one last win? Meanwhile, the Wigan Warriors are one game from history of their own. Beating Hull would earn Wigan a record-extending 25th top flight title, as well as their first Super League three-peat. With Jai Field and his 24 tries leading the way, the Warriors will be determined to break the hearts of the Rovers faithful once again.

Women's Cricket World Cup: India v Australia

Sunday 12th October 9:30AM GMT/3:00PM Local

ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam

The Women’s Cricket World Cup continues as India face Australia at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. Hosts India have gotten off to a fantastic start to what they hope will be a maiden World Cup title, taking down Sri Lanka and Pakistan in their first two games. Harleen Deol and Deepti Sharma have been the driving forces behind India’s success at the crease, although Australia will be a much tougher match than they have experienced so far. The defending tournament champions won their opening match against New Zealand with centuries from Ashleigh Gardner and Sophie Devine, but saw their second match against Sri Lanka abandoned due to rain. With that unfortunate result, this match against a fellow title contender is of greater importance to Australia, in their quest to retain the title.
