ATP Tour: Paris Masters Day 1
Monday 27th October 10:00AM GMT/11:00AM Local
Paris La Defense Arena, Paris
The Paris Masters begin at the La Défense Arena in Paris. The final Masters 1000 tournament of the season marks one of the last opportunities to earn a spot at the ATP Finals in Turin, for which four places remain available. Taylor Fritz, Ben Shelton, Alex de Minaur, Lorenzo Musetti, Casper Ruud, and Félix Auger-Aliassime all remain in the running to reach Turin. Third seed Alexander Zverev, who secured his place at the Finals by reaching the Vienna Open Final last week, is the defending champion in Paris. Many of the players hoping to reach the ATP Finals face a path that runs through some of the world’s best. Auger-Aliassime and Ruud are in the same section as Carlos Alcaraz, Fritz and de Minaur are due to meet in the Quarterfinals if the seeding holds, Musetti will have to take on Zverev, and Shelton’s path is destined for a match against Jannik Sinner. The tournament concludes on Sunday.
MLB: Los Angeles Dodgers v Toronto Blue Jays
Tuesday 28th October 12:00AM GMT (29th)/5:00PM Local
Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles
The World Series continues as the Los Angeles Dodgers host the Toronto Blue Jays at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles for Game 4. Entering the week, the series is tied at 1-1. Game 1 was defined by the Blue Jays’ offensive output, as Toronto routed the defending World Series champions 13-4. However, the Dodgers rallied in Game 2 to even the series, with Yoshinobu Yamamoto pitching a complete game gem to silence Toronto’s bats. The series resumes on Monday with Game 3, which will set one team up for the potential to take a 3-1 lead with a win in this game. Game 4 is expected to see Shohei Ohtani take to the mound for the hometown Dodgers. The last time Ohtani pitched, he limited the opponents to just two hits while also smashing three home runs to put the Dodgers in the World Series. Which side will be setting themselves up for the potential of a series-winning Game 5, or will the series be tied at 2-2 with 3 games to go? This is a must-see match-up.
Cricket in Australia: Australia v India (1st T20I)
Wednesday 29th October 8:15AM GMT/7:15PM Local
Manuka Oval, Canberra
India’s Tour of Australia continues as the two sides face off in the first of five T20 International matches at the Manuka Oval in Canberra. A dominant performance by Rohit Sharma helped India salvage a solitary win in the preceding ODI Series, as the veteran batter’s 121 runs helped India record a nine-wicket victory in the third and final match of the series. However, Australia were firmly in control for most of the ODI series and will look to carry their momentum into the T20 format. For India, this is the perfect opportunity to tune up before they host the T20 World Cup in February. Furthermore, the visitors come off a flawless performance at the recent T20 edition of the Asia Cup, meaning everything is set for a great series with Australia.
NBA: Milwaukee Bucks v Golden State Warriors
Thursday 30th October 12:00AM GMT (31st)/7:00PM Local
Fiserv Forum, Milwaukee
The Milwaukee Bucks host the Golden State Warriors at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee for an NBA regular-season game. Entering the week, the Bucks sit at 2-1, with wins over the Washington Wizards and Toronoto Raptors, followed by a close loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers in their most recent game. While his future in Milwaukee remains uncertain, Giannis Antetokounmpo is playing spectacularly, averaging 36 points a game. Meanwhile, the Warriors have seen a similarly solid start, beating the LA Lakers and Denver Nuggets before falling to the Portland Trail Blazers for their first loss of the season. The Bucks mark one of several tough matchups for the Warriors this week, with fellow playoff contenders in the Memphis Grizzlies, LA Clippers, and Indiana Pacers also on their fixture list. However, Steph Curry looks ageless as he is having a white-hot campaign so far, averaging 33.3 points a game.
NHL: Vegas Golden Knights v Colorado Avalanche
Friday 31st October 8:00PM GMT/1:00PM Local
T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas
The Vegas Golden Knights host the Colorado Avalanche at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas in this exciting NHL clash. Entering the week, the Golden Knights sit atop the Pacific Division with a record of 5-1-3 as they and the Seattle Kraken have established themselves as the teams to beat in the division. Jack Eichel, Mark Stone, and offseason acquisition Mitch Marner have formed an offensive powerhouse for the Knights, combining for 39 points in 10 games. Meanwhile, the Colorado Avalanche find themselves in the midst of the race for the Central Division and have a record of 5-1-4. However, they are riding a four-game losing streak and need to find answers to their offensive woes. Despite their issues garnering winning results recently, Nathan MacKinnon has once again been outstanding, recording 14 points through 10 games. Who will win this match-up of two of the Western Conference’s strong teams?
Autumn Nations Series: England v Australia
Saturday 1st November 3:10PM GMT/3:10PM Local
Twickenham Stadium, London
The Autumn Nations Series begins as England host Australia at Twickenham in London. England enter this match-up in fine form, having lost just one game all year, to Ireland, 27-22, in Dublin, in February. The summer saw an impressive tour of Argentina, and England will hope to build on this momentum throughout the Autumn. Meanwhile, Australia will look to right the ship after an up-and-down year. Losing the British & Irish Lions Series 2-1, followed by a mixed Rugby Championship performance, has the Australians seeking consistency to round out the year. Australia secured a gritty win over Japan last week, but another win over England at Twickenham, would be a real statement for the Wallabies.
Women’s Cricket World Cup: India v South Africa
Sunday 2nd November 9:30AM GMT/3:00PM Local
Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai
The Women’s Cricket World Cup concludes with the Final at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Entering the week, four teams remain in the competition. In the first Semi-final on Wednesday, England look to make their third consecutive Final, while South Africa aim to make their first ever Final after reaching the Semifinals for the third consecutive tournament. In the second Semi-final, scheduled for Thursday, hosts India look to reach their first Final since 2017. However, they face defending champions Australia, who are seeking an eighth Final appearance. Of the remaining teams, only England and Australia have previously won the title. Australia are yet to lose in the competition, while England’s sole loss was to Australia. Meanwhile, South Africa’s only losses have been to England and Australia, while India have struggled against the world’s best, having lost to every other semifinalist. Who will lift the trophy on Sunday?
