For Newcastle, they will look to improve on their draw against Aston Villa to open the season. Meanwhile, defending champions Liverpool will look to build on their thrilling 4-2 win over Bournemouth and keep pace with Arsenal and Tottenham, the only teams on six points through two games. While the Magpies did beat Liverpool in the Carabao Cup Final earlier this year, they haven't beaten the Reds in a league match since 2015. Will that change under the lights in Tyneside?

Super League: Hull KR v St Helens
Friday 29th August 7:00PM GMT/8:00PM Local

Hull KR host St Helens in the Super League at Craven Park in Hull. Despite coming off their first loss since mid-July, Hull still hold a healthy lead at the top of the Super League table. Already guaranteed a place in the playoffs, the Robins are eager to keep their momentum going as they hunt for their first League Leaders’ Shield. Mikey Lewis, Joe Burgess, Tom Davis, and Jake Broadbent form one of the league’s fiercest scoring groups in the league, having combined for 64 tries this season. Meanwhile, St Helens sit in third in the standings. They also have already qualified for the playoffs, and enter this match on a four-game win streak. Their standout star has been Kyle Feldt, with the Australian having scored 17 tries so far this season.
Vuelta a España: Vuelta a España Day 8
Saturday 30th August 11:40AM GMT/1:40PM Local
Monzón, Spain
The Vuelta a España continues, with Stage 8 comprising a 163.5km flat stage between Monzón Templario and Zaragoza. Starting in the shadow of a 10th-century castle, the stage will be a welcome break from the gruelling mountain stages that preceded it, sweeping down into the Ebro valley and concluding in the beautiful city of Zaragoza. Race favourite Jonas Vingegaard holds the pink jersey, after a thrilling Stage 2 win on Sunday. However, his lead entering the week is just four seconds over Giulio Ciccone. The race continues through the weekend until the first rest day in Pamplona on Monday September 1st.
Formula 1: Dutch Grand Prix
Sunday 31st August 1:00PM GMT/3:00PM Local
Circuit Zandvoort, Zandvoort
Formula One resumes its season with the Dutch Grand Prix at Circuit Zandvoort. Racing fans are more than ready to be thrown back into the title race unfolding between McLaren teammates Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris. Thanks to Norris’ win in Hungary before the summer break, Piastri’s lead is once again down to single digits, and with Norris taking three wins in the last four races, it seems as though the momentum is shifting toward the British driver. Furthermore, Norris is the defending champion at Zandvoort, only adding to the pressure faced by his teammate. Meanwhile, while another title may already be out of the picture, Max Verstappen will seek to tie Jim Clark’s 58-year-old record for race wins at the Dutch Grand Prix, as the defending champion goes for his fourth win at his home race.
