There are some exciting fixtures coming up this week in the world of sport. Game 5 of the NBA Finals between the Denver Nuggets and the Miami Heat takes place on Monday, with Game 5 of the NHL Stanley Cup Finals between the Vegas Golden Knights and the Florida Panthers being played on Tuesday. On Wednesday, the Netherlands take on Croatia in the Semifinals of the UEFA Nations League, Thursday sees the U.S. Open golf begin, and the Ashes start on Friday.

Heading into the weekend, the Top 14 Final takes place between Toulouse and La Rochelle, and Formula 1 action rounds out the week with the Canadian Grand Prix.

NBA: Denver Nuggets v Miami Heat

Game 5 of the NBA Finals takes place on Monday, with the Denver Nuggets heading into the game with a 3-1 series lead over the Miami Heat. The Nuggets can end the series with a win, meaning they would be crowned NBA champions, but the Heat will be looking to start a famous comeback, with them now having to win all three remaining games to win the Finals. There is sure to be excitement in this one.

NHL: Vegas Golden Knights v Florida Panthers

T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas

The Vegas Golden Knights and the Florida Panthers head into Game 5 of their Stanley Cup Finals series, with the Golden Knights currently holding a 3-1 lead in the Finals, meaning they can be crowned champions with a win at home on Tuesday. The Panthers face an uphill battle against a strong Vegas side and will now need to win all three remaining games to win their first ever Stanley Cup.

UEFA Nations League: Netherlands v Croatia

The first UEFA Nations League Semi-final takes place on Wednesday, as the Netherlands play Croatia in Rotterdam. The Dutch side, despite an injury to key player Memphis Depay, will fancy their chances to get to the final, as they will be backed by their home crowd. Croatia, with players such as Luka Modrić and Marcelo Brozović, will have confidence in their own ability and will make tough opponents for the Dutch. This is sure to be a game of high quality.

Major Championships (Golf): U.S. Open Day 1

The U.S. Open begins on Thursday, as the players head to the Los Angeles Country Club for what is the third golf major of the year. Last year’s winner, Matt Fitzpatrick, will return to defend his title, but faces tough competition from the likes of Scottie Scheffler, Jon Rahm, Rory McIlroy, and Brooks Koepka.

The Ashes: England v Australia

The hugely anticipated Ashes Test series gets underway on Friday, as England and Australia head to Edgbaston for the first Test. Much excitement surrounds this Ashes series, as it will be the first with England under the captaincy of Ben Stokes, an appointment that has been hugely successful so far and has seen England’s play style become confident and exciting. Australia will have their own confidence coming into the series, after beating India in impressive fashion in the World Test Championship Final on English soil, at the Oval. You won’t want to miss this.

Top 14: Toulouse v La Rochelle

The Top 14 Final takes place on Saturday, as Toulouse and La Rochelle battle it out for supremacy. Toulouse topped the table in the regular season, and with world class player Antoine Dupont captaining the side, they certainly have the quality to lift the trophy. La Rochelle will be looking for their season to end with two trophies, after lifting the Champions Cup in May.

Formula 1: Canadian Grand Prix

Sunday 18th June 6:00PM GMT/2:00PM Local Time

Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Montréal

Formula 1 heads to the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on Sunday for the Canadian Grand Prix. Max Verstappen has dominated this season, with the Red Bull driver winning five races so far, and will go into this race as clear favourite. Those looking to beat the Dutch driver to the top step of the podium include teammate Sergio Pérez, as well as Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso, and Charles Leclerc.
