Event of the Day: England v West Indies

Our event of the day...

is the second match in the three test series being played between England and the West Indies at Headingley, Leeds. The first test was played at Edgbaston and used the day-night format – the first time the format had been used by the England side. However, the hosts took little time to adapt, as they went on to beat the West Indies side convincingly by an innings and 209 runs.

The Windies make two changes with leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo and fast bowler Shannon Gabriel coming in for fast bowlers Alzarri Joseph and Miguel Cummins. Captain Jason Holder will be hoping for his side to step up with an impressive performance in Leeds.

around the globe go to the final round of the AFL, with the Western Bulldogs facing the Hawthorn Hawks at the Etihad Stadium in Melbourne. Hawthorn hero Luke Hodge makes his final appearance for the Hawks after an impressive 16 seasons for the side since his debut season in 2002.

The 2017 Made in Denmark event on the European PGA tour enters the second day at the Himmerland Golf and Spa Resort. Stage seven of the Vuelta a España gets underway with a 207km flat stage from Llíria to Cuenca. The fourth quarter-final of the T20 Blast sees Surrey play the Birmingham Bears at the Oval in London. It is the semi-finals of both the ATP Winston-Salem Open in North Carolina and the WTA Connecticut Open in New Haven, Connecticut.
