Event of the Day: Monaco F1 Grand Prix

Our event of the day is the Monaco Grand Prix, the most prestigious race in the Formula One Calendar. Circuit de Monaco is famous for its stunning scenery, narrow tight corners, frequent elevation changes and the tunnel. Championship leader Sebastian Vettel will be looking to claim Ferrari's first win at Monaco in 16 years. Mercedes have won the last four Monaco races but it will be tough for last year's winner Lewis Hamilton who qualified in 14th. Expect the podium to be made up of three from the Ferraris of Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel, the Red Bulls of Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo and the Mercedes of Valtteri Bottas.

Honourable mentions around the globe go to the first day of the French Open at Roland Garros with women's world number one Angelique Kerber starting against Ekaterina Makarova and sixth men's seed Dominic Thiem taking on Bernard Tomic. The Indy 500 from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway featuring Formula One legend Fernando Alonso in his first Indy Car race, he starts fifth on the grid. It is the last day of the Giro d'Italia, which finishes in Milan. In UFC, Light Heavyweights Alexander Gustafsson and Glover Teixeira fight in the main event of UFC Fight Night 109 in Stockholm. However, the glamour, the history, the yachts and the thrilling raw speed of racing at Monaco is the one to watch. Enjoy.

Have a great day.
