Event of the Day: Louis Vuitton Cup Challenger Playoffs Semi-final

Firstly Softbank Team Japan captained by Dean Barker take on Artemis Racing from Sweden led by Nathan Outteridge in two races, with the series tied at 1-1 in the first to five wins series. The other semi-final is between Emirates Team New Zealand captained by Peter Burling and Land Rover BAR from Great Britain led by Sir Ben Ainslie. New Zealand lead the series 2-0 after BAR suffered damage to their wing in the first race resulting in a loss in race one and then forcing them to forfeit race two due to the damage - repairs over night will have them ready to fight back in the day's two races.

Honourable mentions around the globe go to the ICC Champions Trophy match at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff as England battle New Zealand, with the hosts aiming for two wins in a row after they won their opening game against Bangladesh by 8 wickets. Quarter final action at Roland Garros as defending champion Novak Djokovic faces sixth seed Dominic Thiem. Former world number one Caroline Wozniacki clashes with unseeded 19 year-old Jelena Ostapenko for a place in the last four.
