Event of the Day: Waikato Chiefs v Canterbury Crusaders

Our event of the day is the Super Rugby clash between New Zealand’s top two sides, the Waikato Chiefs against the Canterbury Crusaders. Top of the table Crusaders are the only remaining unbeaten team this season and are coming off a great victory against the Hurricanes last weekend. The Chiefs are in good form themselves losing just the one game this season. They had last weekend off but their last match was a convincing victory at home against the Reds 46-17 in New Plymouth, with Stephen Donald scoring two tries. Today's game is particularly special as it is taking place in Suva in Fiji.

Honourable mentions around the globe go to the IPL final Qualifier as the Mumbai Indians face the Kolkata Knight Riders for a place in Sunday's final against Rising Pune Supergiant. The English County Championship Cricket season continues, leaders Surrey travel to Lord's to play Middlesex and Lancashire welcome Yorkshire to Old Trafford. NHL action in Ottawa for Game 4 of the Ottawa Senators and Pittsburgh Penguins Eastern Conference Final. The Senators are 2-1 up after claiming game 3 in a comfortable 5-1 win. The TD Garden in Boston is the venue for Game 2 of the NBA Eastern Conference Final between the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers, LeBron James with an impressive 38 points led the Cavs to victory in Game 1. However, with two Super Rugby heavyweights locking horns in Fiji, the Chiefs against Crusaders will be an exciting watch. Enjoy.
