Event of the Day: BMW PGA Championship Day 1

Our event of the day is Day 1 of the European Tour BMW PGA Championship at the Wentworth Club in Surrey, England. The course has benefited from a £5m renovation which is part of a wider £20m investment throughout the Club. There is a strong field with last year's winner Chris Wood, Olympic Champion Justin Rose and Open Champion Henrik Stenson all competing. Ten of the current World Top 30 will be there, along with other big names such as Luke Donald, Lee Westwood, Ian Poulter and Wentworth resident Ernie Els - who led the renovation work to the West Course.

Honourable mentions around the globe go to the NHL Eastern Conference Final Game 7 decider between the Ottawa Senators and the Pittsburgh Penguins at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh. The Senators took the series to a decider after a narrow 2-1 win in Game 6. The Cleveland Cavaliers have the opportunity to set up an unprecedented third straight NBA Finals with the Golden State Warriors if they beat the Boston Celtics in Game 5 at the TD Garden in Boston. Cleveland have a 3-1 lead after winning Game 4 112-99. In the AFL, third place Geelong Cats welcome Port Adelaide to the Simonds Stadium. However, today's first round from Wentworth will be an exciting and enjoyable watch. Enjoy.

Have a great day.
