Event of the Day: Louis Vuitton America's Cup Qualifiers Day 1

Our event of the day is the first day of the Louis Vuitton America's Cup Qualifiers. The sailing world will have its eyes on the iconic Great Sound of Bermuda for the next three weeks as the best sailors on the fastest boats fight for the ultimate prize in sailing - a chance to take on Oracle Team USA for the America's Cup. The opening races will see six teams compete - Oracle Team USA (despite already being qualified for the final as holders), Groupama Team France, Artemis Racing from Sweden, Softbank Team Japan, Emirates Team New Zealand and Land Rover BAR from Great Britain captained by Sir Ben Ainslie.

Honourable mentions around the globe go to the packed night of Lucha Libre in Mexico City. The 25th Anniversary of Wrestling AAA Worldwide arrives at the Gimnasio Olímpico Juan De la Barrera Olympic arena. There are five evening Super League games with Leeds Rhinos hosting Warrington Wolves the pick of the action. The Chiefs visit the Blues in Auckland in an exciting Super Rugby game. However, the start of the most prestigious event in sailing in the beautiful setting of Bermuda is the one to watch today. Enjoy.
