Event of the Day: Europa League Final

Our event of the day is the Europa League Final at the Friends Arena in Solna, between Ajax and Manchester United. Both European heavyweights have created history to reach the final with Ajax reaching their first European final in 22 years and United making their first appearance at a Europa League/UEFA Cup Final. Both sides' routes to the final have been dramatic, United were hanging on until the last minute in their slender 2-1 aggregate victory over Celta Vigo in their semi-final. Youthful Ajax came through a nine goal thriller in their semi-final with Lyon to win 5-4 on aggregate.

Honourable mentions around the globe go to the first ODI of three between England and number one ranked South Africa at Headingley. The Copa Libertadores and CAF Champions League continue. However, any European Cup final is an amazing spectacle. A win for United would make them the fifth club to have won all three major European trophies. A win for Ajax would see them claim their 7th European title. With both chasing glory all eyes will be on this exciting game. Enjoy.
