Event of the Day: State of Origin Game 3

Our event of the day is the third and final State of Origin clash of the series as Queensland Maroons take on the New South Wales Blues at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane. The series is on the line after both teams claimed one victory each in the first two matches. Game one saw the Blues thrash Queensland 28-4. The second game was a tight affair which the Maroons produced a fantastic comeback in, to win by two points in a 18-16 victory. The Maroons will be without the influential Johnathan Thurston who injured his shoulder in Game 2. However, his team will still be confident going into the clash considering they have won 10 of the past 11 series. History may be against the Blues but the decider promises to be an exciting watch.

Honourable mentions around the globe go to the men’s singles quarter-finals matches at Wimbledon – Andy Murray clashes with Sam Querrey, Roger Federer takes on Milos Raonic, Novak Djokovic is up against Tomáš Berdych and Gilles Müller plays Marin Čilić. The Tour de France sees the riders take the 203.5km journey from Eymet to Pau for stage 11.
