Event of the Day: England v South Africa

The event of the day is the first Test match at Lord's Cricket Ground between England and South Africa. It will be the first time South Africa have played a test series in England since 2012. England captain Joe Root will take charge of England for the very first time after replacing former captain Alastair Cook in February. England have pace bowlers Stuart Broad and James Anderson fit and ready to attack a strong South African batting unit. The visitors are without pace bowler Dale Steyn and captain Faf Du Plessis - Dean Elgar will captain the Proteas in Du Plessis' absence. South Africa do have bowler Kagiso Rabada in their attack who has taken 71 wickets in 17 tests. In 2012 it was South Africa who claimed a 2-1 series win over England. These two heavyweights of test cricket collide at Lord's for the start of a thrilling four test series. It will be an exciting and intriguing watch.
