Event of the Day: Wimbledon Day 5

Our event of the day is the fifth day of Wimbledon which sees the round of 32 get underway in both the women's and men's singles. Defending champion and world number one Andy Murray faces 28th seed Fabio Fognini on Centre Court. Rafael Nadal pursuit of a third Wimbledon title continues as he takes on Russian Karen Khachanov. Britain's Johanna Konta will battle Maria Sakkari for a place in the last 16. Five-time Wimbledon champion Venus Williams takes on Naomi Osaka from Japan. Today's play also sees Simona Halep, Heather Watson, Marin Čilić and Jo-Wilfred Tsonga in action. We are set for an eventful day at the world's oldest tennis tournament.

Honourable mentions around the globe go to the double header of Super Rugby matches which sees the Reds clash with the Brumbies in Brisbane at the Suncorp Stadium and the Force take on the Rebels in Perth at the nib Stadium. In the NRL Sydney Roosters take on South Sydney Rabbitohs at the Allianz Stadium. The T20 Blast gets underway with a selection of seven matches. Stage seven of the Tour de France sees riders go from Troyes down to Nuits-Saint-Georges. It is the second day of test match cricket at Lord's as England and South Africa clash. In the AFL second placed Adelaide Crows welcome the Western Bulldogs to the Adelaide Oval.
