Event of the day

Our event of the day ...

is the fourth day of the second test match between England and South Africa at Trent Bridge. England need a world record of 474 to beat South Africa. After surviving a stressful 4 overs to make the close of the play with 1 run for no loss of wicket, England have 2 days to find the remaining 473 runs.

South Africa have dominated the test match with stand out performances from Hashim Amla, Dean Elgar and Vernon Philander. It will be fascinating to see how close England will get to the target and which players step up for England with the bat, Philander and Morne Morkel will be major threats with the ball.

Honourable mentions...

round the globe go to the UEFA Women's Championship in the Netherlands, Germany take on Sweden and Italy clash with Russia.

There are four games from the Men's Hockey World League Semi-Finals with Spain against New Zealand the pick of the games.

The Women's Lacrosse World Cup continues and there is a good selection of MLB games on offer with the Washington Nationals visit to the Cincinnati Reds the game of the day.

Whatever you're watching, enjoy!
