Event of the Day: America’s Cup Final

The event of the day is race 9 and potentially race 10 of the 35th America’s Cup Final in Bermuda as Emirates Team New Zealand continue their battle against Oracle Team USA. Peter Burling’s New Zealand currently lead 6-1 in a first-to-seven wins series. New Zealand started the final series on -1 point due to Oracle Team USA winning the 2017 Louis Vuitton Cup Qualifiers Round. However they now need just one more win to lift the trophy. The Oracle team pulled off the most remarkable of comebacks in 2013 when they were victorious 9-8 after being 8-1 down. Jimmy Spithill and his Oracle team will have to pull off another miracle to retain the America's Cup. It should make for an exciting and fascinating day of sailing.

Honourable mentions around the globe go to defending ICC World Cup Champions Australia’s opener against West Indies at the County Ground at Taunton. It is the first day of the Aegon International Eastbourne, a tournament which has becoming more exciting with the late wildcard entry of Novak Djokovic. The ATP Antalya Cup in Turkey kicks off as well today, another pre-Wimbledon grass court event. It is the first day of the College World Series with LSU taking on SEC rival Florida, a best of three series to decide the champions of US college baseball.

Whatever you are watching today, enjoy!
