Event of the Day: Carolina Panthers v Philadelphia Eagles

Our event of the day...

is the NFL game between the Carolina Panthers and the Philadelphia Eagles at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. Both teams have enjoyed impressive starts to the season with identical records of four wins and a single loss from their opening five fixtures and are currently seen as two of the most in-form teams in the NFL. The last time the two sides met was in October 2015 which the Panthers won 27-16. As both sides look to continue their early-season momentum, tonight should be a thrilling game.

This momentum is epitomised by the teams’ results in the last round. The Eagles secured an impressive 34-7 win against the Arizona Cardinals, while the Panthers ran out 24-27 winners against the Detroit Lions with quarterback Cam Newton passing for 355 yards and three touchdowns. The NFC East Eagles are ranked in the top 10 for offense (3rd), passing (8th) and rushing (5th) in the league rankings but will come up against a NFC South Panthers defense that is currently ranked 3rd in the league. With both teams currently topping their respective divisions, we are expecting a high-quality game of football.
