Event of the Day: New Zealand v British and Irish Lions

The event of the day is the third and final test match between the British and Irish Lions and New Zealand at Eden Park, Auckland. The Lions claimed a famous victory over the All Blacks in a dramatic 24-21 win in Wellington last weekend to set up the decider. The Lions are aiming to create history, a win tonight would see them clinch their first series win against New Zealand since 1971 and end the All Blacks 23-year unbeaten streak at Eden Park. New Zealand were comfortable 30-15 winners in the first test of the series in Auckland two weeks ago. The All Blacks have not lost successive matches since August 2011 - another reminder of the task facing Warren Gatland’s side. Gatland has chosen an unchanged side for the decider - the first time the Lions have done this since 1993. It really does not get any bigger than this in world sport - the winner takes it all as the British and Irish Lions take on New Zealand in an enthralling spectacle.

Honourable mentions around the globe go to day three of the first test at Lord's between England and South Africa. It is the second day of the CONCACAF Gold Cup in America, which sees hosts United States take on Panama and Martinique are up against Nicaragua, both matches are at the Nissan Stadium, in Nashville, Tennessee. In the Women's Cricket World Cup, New Zealand clash with Pakistan at the County Ground in Taunton and at Grace Road in Leicester, India and South Africa face off. It is day six at Wimbledon, today's play features last 32 men’s and women’s single matches as we approach the second week of the major. Stage eight in the Tour de France will see riders start in Dole and end at the Station des Rousses, a 187.5km hilly stage.

Whatever you are watching, enjoy!
