Event of the Day: England v South Africa

Our event of the day ...

is one of the third test match between England and South Africa at the Oval in London. It is the 100th test match at the Oval - just the fourth international cricket ground to have reached this milestone after Lord's, the Melbourne Cricket Ground and the Sydney Cricket Ground.

After a convincing test in the first test match England struggled in the second test by 340 runs. England will give out two first caps - Middlesex bowler Toby Roland-Jones will come in for Mark Wood who has a heel injury and Essex batsman Tom Westley comes in a number for Gary Ballance who broke his finger in the last test. There will be a decision on a third perspective of the pitch is inspected - or England will stick with spinner Liam Dawson or bring in Dawid Malan for his debut.

South Africa's fast bowler Kagiso Rabada returns for the last test match, he will take the place of Duanne Olivier. It is set to be an exciting game with the series currently level at 1-1.

It is the second day of the test between Sri Lanka and India at the Galle International Stadium, India closed day 1 at 399 runs for the loss of 3 wickets. At the World Aquatics Championships in Hungary, highlights include men's 100m freestyle and 200m individual medley finals and women's 50m backstroke, 200m butterfly and 4x200m freestyle relay finals. There are three T20 Blast matches going on with the game between Middlesex and Essex at Lord's pick of the games.
