Event of the Day

Our event of the day is the NHL match between the Los Angeles Kings and the Vegas Golden Knights at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The LA Kings are eigth in the Western Conference with 73 points from 63 games and currently hold the last of the wildcard playoff spots, while the Golden Knights lead the Western Conference with 87 points from 62 games. The teams met last night at the Staples Center, as they take part in a back to back home and away schedule. The Kings were victorious with a 3-2 come from behind overtime victory. The Golden Knights took the lead with goals from Erik Haula and Reilly Smith but goals from Jeff Carter and Anze Kopitar forced overtime, where Dustin Brown secured the winner for the LA team.

Tonight is the last of the four games these teams will play against each other this year. The Golden Knights won 4-2 at home back in November and then secured a 3-2 overtime victory at the end of December at the Staples Center. Along with last night, all 3 games have been close and competitive so we should be in for an exciting face-off tonight.

Honourable mentions around the globe go to the NBA clash between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Washington Wizards at the BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee. Bradley Beal leads the Wizards with 23.7 points on average per game while Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Bucks has 27.6 points per game, which is third highest in the league. Also in the NHL, the Pittsburgh Penguins host the New Jersey Devils at PPG Paints Arena and the Calgary Flames visit Dallas to play the Dallas Stars at the American Airlines Center. In the EFL Championship, Reading host Sheffield United at The Madejski Stadium whilst in the FA Cup fifth round, Swansea City take on Sheffield Wednesday at The Liberty Stadium in Swansea. It is day 2 at the ATP Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships at the Aviation Club Tennis Centre in Dubai as well as Day 2 in Acapulco at the Abierto Mexicano Telcel. The 2018 Welsh Open at Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff, enters the second day.

Whatever you’re watching, enjoy!
