The Paddy Power World Darts Championship is the Professional Darts Corporation’s flagship annual tournament, staged over the festive season at Alexandra Palace in London. Often known simply as the PDC World Championship, it brings together leading professional players from across the world to compete for the sport’s most prestigious title. Darts is an individual competition rather than a team event, and the field features established champions and rising contenders, including stars such as Luke Littler, Luke Humphries, Michael van Gerwen and Gerwyn Price. Players compete in 501 legs, finishing each leg on a double, with matches played in a set format. The championship is known for its lively crowd, colourful walk-ons and high-pressure matches, while Alexandra Palace’s Great Hall provides the distinctive venue and atmosphere. Tournament details, including the draw, schedule, number of entrants and prize money, can vary by edition, so fans should check the latest official announcements for current information. This guide offers a useful overview for anyone following the Paddy Power World Darts Championship, its players, venue and place in the professional darts calendar.
