Event of the Day - Müller Grand Prix Birmingham

Our event of the day...

is the Müller Grand Prix Birmingham - acting as the twelfth IAAF Diamond League meeting of the year and taking place at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham. The IAAF World Championships concluded in London last week, and many of those who featured now head north to Birmingham for their last Diamond League meeting before the finals get underway in Zurich (24th August) and Brussels (1st September).

Highlights of the day will include the men's Long jump, the women's Triple jump, the men’s Shot put, the women’s 100m, the men’s 200m and the women’s 400m. Meanwhile, after securing gold in the 10,000m and silver in the 5,000m at the World Championships in London, Mo Farah will compete in, the non-Diamond League eligible, men’s 3,000m. The race will be Farah’s final appearance on a British track, and the 10-time global gold medallist will be hoping to finish his last home meeting on a high. With 59 London 2017 World Championship medalists taking part it should be a fantastic day of athletics.
