Event of the Day: British and Irish Lions v Highlanders

Our event of the day is the fourth game of the British and Irish Lions Tours against the Highlanders in Dunedin. The Lions come into this game in high spirits after an impressive 12-3 victory over the Crusaders in Christchurch. Tour captain Sam Warburton returns to the Lions starting lineup - the flanker leads a completely changed team selection from the weekend. The Highlanders are currently in fourth position of the five New Zealand teams in Super Rugby this season. The Otago team are missing nine frontline players through injury or international call-ups but still can call upon All Blacks fly-half Lima Sopoaga, hooker Liam Coltman and winger Waisake Naholo. Lions coach Warren Gatland will be hoping his team can continue their upward momentum with a solid offensive and defensive display as we get closer to the Lions test matches against New Zealand.

Honourable mentions around the globe go to the Royal London One-Day Cup quarter-finals with Somerset taking on Nottinghamshire at Taunton along with Yorkshire hosting Surrey at Headingley. There is a good selection of international football friendlies with France against England at the Stade de France, Norway hosting Sweden in a Scandinavian derby in Oslo and Cameroon entertaining Colombia at the neutral venue of Getafe in Spain being some of the most exciting games.

Whatever you are watching today, enjoy!
