NBA Cup: New York Knicks v San Antonio Spurs

Tuesday 16th December 1:30AM GMT (17th)/5:30PM Local

T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas

The New York Knicks face the San Antonio Spurs in the Final of the NBA Cup at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. After losing their opening group stage game to the Chicago Bulls, the Knicks have reeled off five straight victories to reach the Final. This run was capped off by a huge Semi-final win over the Orlando Magic, in which Jalen Brunson dropped 40 points to power the Knicks into the Final. Meanwhile, the Spurs arrive in the Final following a dramatic Semi-final against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Playing in his first game in nearly a month, Victor Wembanyama scored 22 points off the bench as the Spurs delivered the Thunder just their second loss of the season. This match-up will pit the Knicks’ veteran core against the Spurs’ exciting young lineup, which is nearing full health for the first time this season. Which team will come out on top?

The Ashes: Australia v England (3rd Test) Day 1

Wednesday 17th December 11:30PM GMT (16th)/10:00AM Local

Adelaide Oval, Adelaide

Australia face England in the Third Test of the Ashes, at the Adelaide Oval. Australia have one hand on the urn after a dominant performance at the Gabba saw them take a 2-0 series lead. The one and only instance of a team winning the Ashes after losing the first two Tests occurred in 1937, meaning the odds of an England comeback are almost impossibly long. Through two Tests, England has either found success in short passages of their bowling or batting, but not consistently nor timely. The Second Test saw Joe Root finally scoring a century in Australia, only for England to let Australia rack up a 511-run first inning total. If England can finally find balance in their play, they might be able to extend the series to Melbourne. However, if things continue the way they have played out so far, Australia will be celebrating another Ashes victory in Adelaide.

NFL: Seattle Seahawks v Los Angeles Rams

Thursday 18th December 1:15AM GMT (19th)/5:15PM Local

Lumen Field, Seattle

The Seattle Seahawks host the Los Angeles Rams in the NFL at Lumen Field in Seattle. This divisional match-up puts the outright divisional lead on the line as the Seahawks and Rams battle for supremacy in the NFC West. The standout star of the Seahawks’ season has been third-year wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who is making a firm case for Offensive Player of the Year with his explosive playmaking. Additionally, the Seahawks have one of the best defences in the league, making for a challenging road game for Matthew Stafford and the Rams. That said, the Rams have already beaten the Seahawks once this season and will look to do so again behind MVP candidate Stafford and their own hyper-talented WR1, Puka Nacua. Both teams will be eager for the division-defining win, making this match-up an unmissable one for any NFL fan.

Boxing Fights: Anthony Joshua v Jake Paul

Friday 19th December 1:00AM GMT (20th)/8:00PM Local

Kaseya Center, Miami

Jake Paul fights Anthony Joshua at the Kaseya Center in Miami. For Paul, the upstart YouTuber-turned-boxer, the fight billing of ‘Judgement Day’ couldn’t be any more apt. After amassing a 12-1 record against former MMA stars, long-retired boxing legends, and outclassed journeymen, Paul finally has the chance to prove his boxing credibility. Joshua is a two-time heavyweight champion and Olympic gold medalist with a 28-4 record and 25 wins by knockout. Two of his career losses have come against Oleksandr Usyk, a true living legend of the sport. If Jake Paul can pull off what he himself is calling ‘the greatest upset in boxing history’, he will rightfully earn his flowers, and maybe even justify a title fight in the near future. However, many fans are rooting for “AJ” to humble the braggadocious “El Gallo” with his signature brutal style. Either way, this fight will likely redefine the trajectory of boxing for years to come.

NFL: Chicago Bears v Green Bay Packers

Saturday 20th December 1:20AM GMT (21st)/7:20PM Local

Soldier Field, Chicago

The Chicago Bears host the Green Bay Packers at Soldier Field in Chicago. For the second time in three weeks, these division rivals will face off with the division lead on the line. The Bears enter the week 10-4 after routing the Cleveland Browns last weekend. They will be eager to avenge their close loss to the Packers and move themselves toward their first division title since 2018. Meanwhile, the Packers’ winning streak was snapped last week by the Denver Broncos, but the team remains just a single win behind the Bears and holds the all-important head-to-head tiebreaker. While the status of defensive star Micah Parsons is seemingly heading in a negative direction, the Packers have already proven once this season that they have the answers to the puzzle posed by the Bears. A win puts the Packers back at the top of the division and one step closer to their first division title since 2021.

Premier League: Aston Villa v Manchester United

Sunday 21st December 4:30PM GMT/4:30PM Local

Villa Park, Birmingham

Aston Villa host Manchester United in the Premier League at Villa Park in Birmingham. This matchup pits two teams thick in the fight for European football next season. Villa are third, just three points behind league leaders Arsenal, and are riding a nine-game winning streak in all competitions. This includes a huge 2-1 win over Arsenal earlier this month. A multi-pronged attack led by Donyell Malen, Emiliano Buendía, and Morgan Rogers has paid dividends for the Villans as they aim for their highest top-flight finish since finishing second in the Premier League’s inaugural season. Meanwhile, Manchester United, who could enter this matchup as high as fifth in the table, if they beat Bournemouth on Monday, are finally experiencing a resurgence in form. With just one league loss since the start of October, United are once again a team worth watching in the Premier League. Summer signing Bryan Mbeumo looks like money well spent as he leads the team’s goalscoring efforts. While Villa look like the better team heading into this matchup, they have only recorded a single home win against United since 1995. Will that change on Sunday?
