Event of the Day: Adelaide Crows v Sydney Swans

Our event of the day...

is the AFL game between the Adelaide Crows and the Sydney Swans at the Adelaide Oval. This is the first match of the penultimate weekend of the regular season before the Finals series begins. Six wins and one draw from their last seven matches sees the Crows sit six points clear at the top of the table, and the home side will be looking to continue with their impressive run of form this evening.

The two sides met in last year’s semi-final, with the Swans claiming victory after an incredible first half display saw them lead by 37 points at half-time. The Crows will therefore be looking for a fine display tonight in Adelaide, in order to claim revenge for last year’s heartbreak. The Swans currently sit fifth in the ladder despite a dismal start to the season which saw them lose the first six consecutive matches. They have now bounced back with twelve wins from their last fourteen matches and a win tonight will therefore boost their hopes of a potential top four finish, and subsequent qualification for this year’s semi-finals at the very least. With the two current form sides in the AFL meeting it should be a thrilling game of Aussie Rules.
