Event of the Day: Aragón MotoGP

Our event of the day...

is the MotoGP Aragón Grand Prix taking place at Motorland Aragón near Alcañiz, Spain. Coming into the weekend, Honda rider and defending champion Marc Márquez and Andrea Dovizioso of team Ducati are tied in the MotoGP standings with 199 points and 4 wins each. Maverick Viñales is close behind in third with 183 points and 3 wins while timeless rider Valentino Rossi is currently fourth. Last time out Márquez emerged victorious at the San Marino Grand Prix with Ducati riders Danilo Petrucci and Dovizioso occupying the other podium spots. The standings couldn’t be any closer coming into the 14th Grand Prix of the season and it’s set to be another tightly fought day of racing.

All eyes will be on Rossi as he races for the first time since breaking his leg in a motocross training accident at the end of August. Maverick Viñales will start in pole position after a thrilling drive in yesterday’s qualifying. It’s going to be an exciting race as a new outright leader in the standings will emerge whoever wins.

around the globe go to the the NFL's visit to London as the Jacksonville Jaguars tackle the Baltimore Ravens at Wembley Stadium. Last time out, the Jaguars were beaten 37-16 by the Tennessee Titans while the Ravens claimed a 24-10 win against the Cleveland Browns. NFL games at Wembley have a habit of being very close with 10 of the last 18 games being decided by one score. As recently as October 2016 the Washington Redskins and the Cincinnati Bengals played out a tense 27-27 draw.

In Cricket, it’s the third ODI match between England and West Indies at The Brightside Ground, Bristol. England won the first match, while the second was abandoned due to rain. In Golf, it’s the final day of the USPGA Tour Championship at East Lake. All of the FedEx Cup leaders are still in the mix as the competition comes to a close. The Premier League brings a long journey for some fans as Newcastle travel to Brighton. In Rugby Union, there is an Aviva Premiership clash between Exeter and Wasps at Sandy Park. In Athletics, three runners are tipped with a chance to break the world record at the Berlin Marathon - Eliud Kipchoge of Kenya looks like the man to beat. In tennis, it is the third and final day of the Laver Cup in Prague, Czech Republic.
