Event of the Day: Chicago Cubs v Washington Nationals

Our event of the day...

is the MLB Division Series match between the Chicago Cubs and the Washington Nationals at Wrigley Field in Chicago. Before yesterday’s action the series was tied 1-1 between the two sides. The Cubs won the first game 3-0 which was followed by a 6-3 win for the Nationals, both games were at Nationals Park in Washington DC. The Cubs now lead the delicately-poised series 2-1 after a 2-1 win yesterday. Tonight is set to be a tense but exciting evening of baseball.

The Cubs finished the regular season top of the Central National League while the Nationals topped the East National League. The Cubs have the chance of winning the series today and advancing to the League Championship Series which will determine which team has won the National League. It is the winner of the League Championship Series that will go into the World Series. Effectively, tonight is a season-defining game in which the Nationals must avoid defeat to continue their postseason campaign. It’s sure to be an entertaining encounter between the Cubs and the Nationals.

There are seven games in the NHL, including the Chicago Blackhawks against the Montreal Canadiens at Centre Bell in Montreal.
