Event of the Day: French Open Day 12

Our event of the day is Day 12 of the French Open at Roland Garros which features the women's single semi-finals and the mixed doubles final. Unseeded 19 year-old Jeļena Ostapenko from Latvia will clash with Timea Bacsinszky from Switzerland in the first semi-final, both aiming to reach their first Grand Slam final. Number two seed Karolína Plíšková from the Czech Republic takes on third seed Simona Halep from Romania in the second semi-final. The mixed doubles final will be an exciting match up as Robert Farah and Anna-Lena Groenefeld take on seventh seeds Rohan Bopanna and Gabriela Dabrowski on the Philippe-Chatrier Court.

Honourable mentions around the globe go to Game 5 of the NHL Stanley Cup Finals. Nashville Predators travel to the PPG Paints Arena in Pennsylvania to play the Pittsburgh Penguins with the series tied at 2-2. More ICC Champions Trophy action as reigning 2013 Champions India clash with Sri Lanka at the Oval Cricket Ground. Leigh Centurions host Wigan Warriors in Super League action. The European Golf Tour heads to Austria for the first day of the Lyoness Open.
