Event of the Day: Rising Pune Super Giants v Mumbai Indians

Our event of the day is the 2017 IPL final at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad as Rising Pune Super Giants face the Mumbai Indians. This is the fourth meeting between these two sides this season, Pune winning all three games. The Mumbai Indians thrashed the Kolkata Knight Riders to reach the final, beating them by six wickets. This will be the Indians fourth IPL final and they will be looking to become the first team to win three IPL titles. Pune also have their eyes on history as they play in their first IPL final after only joining the IPL in 2016.

Honourable mentions go to Game 3 of the NBA Eastern Conference Final in Cleveland as the Cavaliers look to extend their lead against the Boston Celtics after winning the first two matches. It is the last day of the Premier League and La Liga, where Real Madrid can secure their first title in five years if they can avoid defeat away at Malaga. Finals day at the Italian Tennis Open features both the Men’s and Ladies’ finals. MotoGP heads to Le Mans for the French Grand Prix. Finals Day of the London Sevens closes out the World Rugby Sevens Series. However, after 59 matches of cricket in under seven weeks the grand finale of the IPL season will be a thrilling spectacle to watch. Enjoy.
