Event of the Day: Nordea Masters Day 2

Our event of the day is the second day of the Nordea Masters at Barsebäck Golf & Country Club near Malmö in Southern Sweden. It’s the perfect setting for a renewed battle between Swedish golfers Henrik Stenson and Alex Norén. Two of Norén's European tour titles have come at the Nordea Masters, in 2011 and 2015. The Swede is in great form after claiming a two shot win at the BMW PGA Championship last week. Stenson, who finished third last week, will be hoping to make it a happy return to his home golf club this weekend. The strong line-up includes last year's champion Matthew Fitzpatrick, Rikard Karlberg, three-time winner Lee Westwood and Jamie Donaldson.

Honourable mentions around the globe go to the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup Qualifiers in Bermuda; New Zealand clash with Japan and France with Sweden taking on Japan and USA to complete the action. In the NRL the Melbourne Storm welcome the Newcastle Knights and the New Zealand Warriors travel to the Parramatta Eels. Leeds Rhinos host Leigh Centurions in Super League XXII action. Australia and New Zealand clash at Edgbaston Cricket Ground in the ICC Champions Trophy. Australia have won the competition on two occasions but never before on English soil.
