Event of the Day: Northamptonshire Steelbacks v Birmingham Bears

Our event of the day...

is the T20 Blast match between the Northamptonshire Steelbacks and the Birmingham Bears at the County Ground in Northampton. The Bears currently lie in third place in the North Division with the Steelbacks in fourth - the winner of this game will go top of the division. The sides met in July with Northants coming out victorious by 5 wickets.

Top batsman for Northants is Ben Duckett with a top score of 72 in this year's competition, for Birmingham Ian Bell is the main man with a high score in the Blast of 75 Not Out. Northamptonshire are the 2016 Champions and both the Bears and the Steelbacks are expected to be in the mix for this year's finals day to be held on 2nd September at Edgbaston. This should be an exciting game with the Bears desperate for the Steelbacks not to beat them for the fifth time in a row in this competition.
