Event of the Day: Oklahoma City Thunder versus Cleveland Cavaliers

Our event of the day is the NBA game between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City. Currently the Cavaliers sit third in the Eastern Conference with a 33-22 record, while the Thunder are fifth in the Western Conference with a 32-25 record. The teams met a few weeks ago in Cleveland, with the Thunder winning convincingly,148-124. Paul George, dominated with 36 points and Russell Westbrook contributed 23 points and 20 assists. The Cavs have won their last three matches including a 121-99 victory against the Celtics on Sunday - LeBron James had 24 points and 10 assists.
The Thunder achieved a 110-92 victory against the Grizzlies on Sunday, thanks to Paul George’s 33 points and 8 assists. There has been a huge turnover in personnel in Cleveland after turning over six of their 15 players before the closing of the trading window. The Cavs new players are Jordan Clarkson, Rodney Hood, Larry Nance Jr. and George Hill. The Thunder have recently had injury problems with key players, Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony missing games due to ankle injuries. They both participated in the latest team practice round, however their availability for tonight's clash is still uncertain, according to Thunder coach Billy Donovan. It should be a great night at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City.
 
Honourable mentions around the globe go to the Champions League game between Juventus and Tottenham at the Juventus Stadium in Turin, Italy. This is the first competitive meeting between the clubs. Also in the Champions League, FC Basel are playing Manchester City at St Jakob-Park. In cricket, New Zealand take on England in the 4th Match of the Twenty20 Tri-Series and South Africa play against India in the 5th ODI. In the NHL, the Winnipeg Jets are up against the Washington Capitals at Bell MTS Place and the Nashville Predators meet the St. Louis Blues at the Bridgestone Arena. It is day 4 of the Winter Olympics with highlights including the Men's Alpine Skiing, Women’s and Men’s Cross Country Skiing, Mixed Doubles Curling, Women’s Snowboard Halfpipe, Women’s Luge and Women’s and Men’s Speed Skating. In Tennis, it is day two of both the 2018 ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament and the WTA Qatar Open.
