Event of the day

Our event of the day
is the UEFA Champions League game between Manchester United and CSKA Moscow at the Old Trafford in Manchester. Today’s and Wednesday’s fixtures of the Champions League Matchday 6, the last round of the group stage, will decide all participants of the knock-out phase as well as the teams that will move to the Europa League. In the first of the eight groups, Group A, these matters are still unresolved. Favourites Manchester United are in top position with 12 points and a draw tonight would mean they qualify for the last 16 in first position, CSKA and FC Basel are also in the running to make the next round.
United convincingly won the first match against CSKA, winning 4-1 in Moscow with goals from Anthony Martial, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and two from Romelu Lukaku. In a total of five games against CSKA, the Red Devils have been victorious on three occasions and have drawn twice. United last lost a Champions League group game at Old Trafford against CFR Cluj in December 2012. CSKA however, place their hopes in their great away form, as they have won all four away games in the Champions League this season, including qualifiers. Both teams come into the match with confidence with United beating Arsenal 3-1 on Saturday, and CSKA dominating Tosno 6-0. It is all setup for a great evening of football at Old Trafford.
