Event of the Day: England v Australia

Our event of the day
is the third day of the second Test of the 2017/18 Ashes Series between England and Australia at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide. The second day of the second test was affected by rain but saw Shaun Marsh record an impressive unbeaten century as he scored 126 runs as Australia declared on 442 for 8. England had time for just over nine overs of batting before the umpires decided to call off play for the remainder of the day. The visitors reached 29 runs for the loss of one wicket as Mark Stoneman scored 18 runs but was dismissed lbw by Mitchell Starc.
England will be looking for a good batting performance when play resumes on day three as they look to claw back the deficit of 413 runs. England’s top batsmen Alaistair Cook and Joe Root will be hoping to inspire a great comeback. However a poor performance on the third day from the tourists will almost confirm another win for Australia, after their victory in Brisbane last week, and this will put the 2017/18 Ashes Series in serious jeopardy for the English.

Honourable mentions
around the globe go to the NFL game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Pittsburgh Steelers as the Steelers look to increase their lead at the top of the AFC North division while their opponents look to stay in the mix for one of the wild-card places. The Steelers are in great form after six consecutive wins and will be expecting to make this seven against the Bengals. There are 11 games in the NBA with the match between the New Orleans Pelicans and the Golden State Warriors the pick of the action. There is more international cricket with day four in the match between the West Indies and New Zealand and day three of the test between India and Sri Lanka. In the NHL, the San Jose Sharks take on the Washington Capitals at the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC.

Whatever you’re watching, enjoy!
