Event of the Day: Oakland Raiders v Kansas City Chiefs

Our event of the day...

is the NFL clash between the Oakland Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs at the Oakland Coliseum. The Raiders got off to a good start to the regular season, winning their opening two matches against the Tennessee Titans and the New York Jets, scoring 71 points in the process. However they have gone on to lose their last four games, including a 17-16 loss against a Los Angeles Chargers team that had also been struggling. The Chiefs, on the other hand, have looked strong this season winning their first five games including an opening-day victory against a strong Patriots outfit before losing to the Steelers in the last round. With one of the most in-form franchises playing tonight it will be a game worth watching.

It is a divisional game which always heightens the excitement and intensity - the Chiefs currently sit top of the AFC West, with the Raiders propping up the division in 4th. This is difference in performance is reflected in how the two sides appear in the league rankings. While both rank pretty low in defence, the Chiefs sit an impressive second in the offensive rankings. The Raiders on the other hand sit in thirtieth. Add to this the Chief’s passing and rushing rankings (seventh and fourth respectively) the team from Kansas City will be strong favourites tonight. Whether the Raiders can spring an upset or not, tonight is set to be an entertaining game of football.
