The Golden Knights have turned the series around to take a 2-1 lead. Having lost 4-2 in the series opener at the Bell MTS Place, Vegas replied with a 3-1 away victory before they won their first home match 4-2 on Wednesday night. The Las Vegas franchise are having a sensational first NHL season as they have clinched the Pacific Division title before reaching the Conference Finals by defeating the Los Angeles Kings (4-0) and the San Jose Sharks (4-2) in the first two rounds of the playoffs. The Jets, second in the Central Division as well as second in the Western Conference overall in the regular season, have reached the Conference Finals for the first time in their history after beating the Minnesota Wild (4-1) and the Nashville Predators (4-3).

The Golden Knights have won two of the three regular season encounters with Winnipeg, including the one in Las Vegas in November (5-2). The Jets have leaders in both goals and assists in the playoffs so far -  right wing and captain Blake Wheeler has made 17 assists while centre Mark Scheifele is the leading goalscorer with 14 goals.
