It was first opened in 1953 and has undergone multiple renovations and expansions since then. The stadium is named after Al and Pat Reser, two prominent <a href="https://www.fixturecalendar.com/sport-american-football/team-oregon-state-1">Oregon State</a> alumni and supporters of the university's athletic programs. In addition to hosting college football games, <a href="https://www.fixturecalendar.com/stadium-reser-stadium">Reser Stadium</a> has also been the site of several soccer matches and track and field events. Some notable players who have competed on this field include Steven <a href="https://www.fixturecalendar.com/city-jackson">Jackson</a>, Brandin Cooks, and <a href="https://www.fixturecalendar.com/sport-football/team-chad">Chad</a> Johnson.
