The <a href="/country-bulgaria">Bulgaria</a> Volleyball team, officially known as the Bulgarian National Volleyball team, represents Bulgaria in international <a href="/sport-volleyball">volleyball</a> competitions. The team is governed by the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation, which was founded in 1922 and joined the International Volleyball Federation in 1949. The team's most successful period was in the 1980s, where they won bronze at the 1980 Olympics and silver at the 1986 World Championship. They have also won multiple medals at the European Championships, including gold in 1951 and 1981. The current captain of the team is Tsvetan Sokolov and they are currently ranked 6th in the FIVB World Rankings.
