The Vijay Hazare Trophy is one of the premier one-day domestic cricket competitions in India. Named after legendary Indian cricketer Vijay Hazare, this tournament was first played in 2002. It is organized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) with the aim of providing a platform for domestic players to showcase their talent and potentially get selected for the national team. The participating teams consist of state teams from all over India, with the previous year's winner automatically qualifying for the next season. The tournament is played in a round-robin format followed by knockout matches. Some of the top players that have participated in this tournament include Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja. The final is typically held at a different venue each year, with stadiums like the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium and the Eden Gardens being some of the popular venues for the tournament. The winner of the Vijay Hazare Trophy is awarded the coveted Hazare Trophy, along with a cash prize and the title of the best domestic one-day team in India.
