OFI Crete, officially Omilos Filathlon Irakleiou, is a professional football club based in Heraklion, the largest city on the Greek island of Crete. Founded in 1925, OFI competes in the Greek Super League, the country’s top division, and is one of the most prominent clubs outside mainland Greece. The team’s greatest achievement came in the 1987–88 season, when OFI won the Greek Cup after defeating Iraklis in the final; the club also reached the cup final in 1990–91. OFI plays its home matches at Theodoros Vardinogiannis Stadium, popularly known as Gendi Koule, a long-standing Heraklion landmark with a capacity of around 9,000 spectators. The club’s black-and-white identity and passionate local support make its home fixtures a distinctive part of Cretan football culture. Among the notable players associated with OFI are former Greece international striker Nikos Machlas, who began his career at the club, and forward Giorgos Samaras, who also represented the team. With a proud history, devoted supporters and regular competition in the Greek Super League, OFI Crete remains a leading name in Greek football.

Panetolikos Football Club is a professional team from Agrinio, in western Greece, founded in 1926. Known as “The Canaries,” the club competes in Super League Greece, the country’s top division, and represents a city with a passionate football following. Panetolikos secured promotion to the top flight in 2011 after a 34-year absence and has since established itself as a regular competitor in Greek league football. Its honors include success in the lower divisions, notably winning promotion through the second tier. The team plays its home matches at Panetolikos Stadium in Agrinio, a ground closely associated with the club and its supporters. Recent squads have included Greek and international professionals such as Nikos Karelis, Levan Shengelia and Frederico Duarte, reflecting the team’s blend of domestic experience and overseas talent; player lineups change from season to season. Panetolikos also competes in the Greek Cup, where clubs from across the country contest national knockout honors.
